In 2011 GLOBUL has saved a total of 86 tons of paper within its long-term environmental sustainability strategy GLOBUL Green. Due to the clients who have opted for e-invoice, paper savings increased by nearly 60% compared to 2010.

For a second consecutive year, GLOBUL is a partner of the Green Economy forum, organized by Capital daily. The event will be held on April 24 at the Sheraton hotel in Sofia.

For a fourth consecutive year, GLOBUL and GERMANOS will join the international environmental organization WWF initiative Earth Hour to be held between 20:30 and 21:30 of March 31, 2012.

GLOBUL took second place in the Investor in Environment category at this year’s Responsible Business Awards organised by the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF). The company was honored for its joint project with the environmental organization WWF Bulgaria – National Nature Parks Day.

For a third consecutive year GLOBUL supports and will participate in one of the most significant events for Bulgaria’s sustainable business, the Green Innovation Forum organized by Dnevnik daily and denkstatt Bulgaria. This year the forum will be held on November 29 in Sofia under the headline Food, Water and Raw Materials – Innovations for a Sustainable Future.

At a special event which was held at the Culture and Debate Center The Red House GLOBUL presented the first Bulgarian corporate responsibility report prepared according to the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). GLOBUL Chief Technical Officer Mr. Apostolos Pagkoutsos, Mr. Yassen Guev, GLOBUL Corporate Affairs Director and Mrs. Vessela Takova, Head of Recruitment Section at GLOBUL assisted the event.

Despite the extremely adverse weather conditions, hundreds of enthusiasts participated in the Nature Parks Open Doors Day, which was held by GLOBUL and the international environmental organization WWF on Sunday.

GLOBUL and the international environmental organization WWF will hold Nature Parks Open Doors Day this Sunday, October 16. The initiative is organized for the first time within long-term partnership of GLOBUL and WWF aimed at preserving Bulgaria’s wild nature.

GLOBUL participated in an event within the European Mobility Week which was held yesterday, September 18, in Sofia, in front of the National Palace of Culture (NDK). Visitors had the opportunity to take a close look at the 100% electric vehicle Peugeot iOn which GLOBUL owns since early 2011.

For a second consecutive year GLOBUL and Manager Magazine organized a forum about green ideas and their practical implementation in Bulgarian economy. The event was held under the motto The Green Future of Bulgaria – Energy, Water, Transport, Waste.
The forum’s special guest this year was the world famous Portuguese writer and journalist José Rodrigues dos Santos, author of the novels The Island of Darkness, Codex 632, The Einstein Enigma and The Seventh Seal. He opened the event with a speech under the headline The End of the Petroleum Era and participated in the discussions.

The National Nature Parks Day and Generation GLOBUL communication campaigns won gold and bronze awards for most efficient advertisements in the Corporate Communication and Services Categories at the EFFIE Bulgaria 2011 festival.

GLOBUL and TEMA weekly planted 500 birches in the town of Bankya to celebrate the magazine’s 10th anniversary and 500th issue.

Some 3,600 volunteers from across the country collected 12 tons of waste at Bulgaria’s 11 nature parks in this year’s edition of the National Nature Parks Day initiative organized by GLOBUL and WWF. The highest number of volunteers, over 1600, was registered at the Vitosha, Sinite Kamuni and Strandzha nature parks.

For a third consecutive year GLOBUL and the international environmental organization WWF will join efforts with volunteers from across the country in order to clean all of the 11 Bulgarian nature parks within the National Nature Parks Day initiative.

GLOBUL is one of the owners of the first officially registered electromobiles in Bulgaria. Sofia, May 13, 2010 – GLOBUL and the company’s employees will join the National Nature Park Day initiative, for a second consequent year co-organized with the Bulgarian branch of the global environmental organization WWF.

GLOBUL and GERMANOS customers and employees collected for recycling 2,182 kg of obsolete mobile handsets, batteries and accessories in the first year since the start of the operator’s GLOBUL Green sustainable development program.
In the last twelve months, GLOBUL implemented a series of measures and initiatives aimed at environment protection and company footprint reduction under its sustainable development strategy GLOBUL Green.

GLOBUL was awarded for Best internal communication campaign in the Corporate social responsibility segment in the first of it’s kind contest in the internal communication area - Grapevine Awrads 2009. The initiatives taken for the internal promotion of GLOBUL Green campaign among employees, impressed the jury and our GLOBUL team earned the first place in a tough competition with companies such as M-Tel and Siemens.

The volunteers collected garbage and renovated the visitor infrastructure at some of the country’s most popular tourist and recreation areas inBulgaria. As expected, Vitosha Nature park attracted the highest number of volunteers, some 500.

Bulgarian showbiz stars, media personalities and foreign diplomats will join the National Nature Park Day initiative by the Bulgarian branch of the global environmental organization WWF and GLOBUL, to be held on May 23, 2009.
The celebrities will be ambassadors of the 11 nature parks in Bulgaria and will endorse the initiative by volunteering in the cleaning and the renovation of the infrastructure and the recreation areas in the 11 nature parks.

In support of corporate strategy for environment protection GLOBUL Green and in order to preserve valuable recourses, all GLOBUL offices and stores will start using only recycled copy paper as from 15 December 2008.According to data of Conservatree.com, an average of 24 trees is needed for the production of 1 ton of paper.
