GLOBUL offers the first environmentally friendly mobile handset on Bulgarian market, the SAMSUNG E200 ECO, within the framework of its GLOBUL Green long- term sustainable development strategy.
Stylish, elegant and easy-to-use, SAMSUNG E200 ECO offers comfortable mobile communication and entertainment and boasts exteriors entirely made of eco-friendly materials. The handset’s case wrapping is constructed of bio-plastic and is produced at reduced fuel and CO2 consumption. The use of other potentially harmful substances like lead, mercury, cadmium and brominated flame retardants were also omitted in the manufacturing process. The handset also comes in packaging of recycled materials.
The ultrathin and light tri-band SAMSUNG E200 ECO sports a 1.3 mega-pixel camera, FM radio, microSD-card slot, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and audio and video player, operating with the most popular file formats.
SAMSUNG E200 ECO is available at GLOBUL, GERMANOS and partner shops at prices starting from BGN 99 (VAT incl.) depending on the subscription program and the contract term.
The market premiere of SAMSUNG E200 ECO is the next step in GLOBUL’s long-term environment protection strategy GLOBUL Green, aimed at encouraging responsible usage by the operator’s clients and emplyees.
The sustainability strategy GLOBUL Green was launched in 2008 with initial investments of BGN 400,000. GLOBUL is the first Bulgarian telecommunications company to offer a large-scale plan of measures and initiatives aimed at company’s environment footprint minimization, encouraging responsible usage and recycling of mobile devises and accessories and support of public projects.
The program for recycling of old mobile handsets and accessories is an essential part of the GLOBUL Green strategy. Just five months after the launch of the program, Bulgarian mobile users deposited more than 900 kg of electronic waste for recycling in the special collection bins in GLOBUL and Germanos shops across Bulgaria.
